Hospital and RN Program Description

Alameda Health System operates a number of hospitals in Northern California, including Highland Hospital- a 236 bed, renowned, regional trauma center- 1 of only 4 adult Level I Trauma Centers in the San Francisco Bay Area; San Leandro Hospital- a 93 bed, level II Trauma center with complete critical care and surgical services; and Alameda Hospital- 161 bed facility, providing comprehensive inpatient services.

Alameda Health offers an RN Residency Program. The structured program is 12 weeks in length and the curriculum supports an environment of learning and work experiences that will prepare the new graduate RN to transition confidently into nursing practice. As part of this program, you will receive a combination of didactic instruction and clinical experience in the Med-Surg/Telemetry or Step-Down Unit.

Once the initial clinical orientation is completed, the new graduate RN will remain in contact with Nurse Educators as they continue to remain as a resource and lead monthly Zoom meetings. These Zoom meetings facilitate the exchange of experiences and knowledge amongst new graduates as well as on-going support and guidance.

The New Graduate RN program has openings at several of our hospitals including Alameda, Highland and San Leandro. To search available positions, go to Alameda Jobs page through the link below and look for "RN I" or "staff nurse I" positions. New Grads will be considered for some other positions within the system as well. "will consider new grad" will be listed in the qualifications section of the position description.

Salary tables are available along with a reference of other benefits, through the benefits link below. San Leandro Hospital "(SLH) RN I" would be the New Grad Position.
