Sutter Health System operates many hospitals in Northern California, including 300-400+ bed Level II Trauma Centers (Alta Bates Summit Locations) and smaller rural community hospitals (Sutter Amador).

Sutter Health does offer an organized New Nurse Residency program and a Transition to Practice program for experienced nurses to move into specialty areas- at select facilities. The Nurse Residency Program is 12 months in length. Every New Nurse Hired as a Sutter Health Employee will have the opportunity to participate.
